Divided by Circumstances
Divided by Circumstance is a project that explores psychological fragmentation, ambiguity, and inner conflict through layered visual metaphors and structural disruptions.
The physical separations between canvases are not merely formal decisions; they function as symbols of existential discontinuity. Each fragment, each interruption in visual continuity, evokes a shifting psychological state—doubt, denial, longing, the desire for transformation—that coexists within a divided self.
Through fractured compositions and interrupted surfaces, the work delves into the tension between opposing forces: authenticity versus adaptation, impulse versus retreat, the desire to move forward versus the fear of becoming lost. It is within this intersection that dissonance arises, unsettling emotional clarity and obstructing purposeful action.
The series proposes a cartography of disorientation—a personal map of the moment when the mind enters into conflict with itself. In the absence of certainty or resolution, vertigo takes hold: are we moving toward a possible future, or repeating a static cycle masked as security?
Divided by Circumstance is a meditation on ambiguity as an existential condition—not a moment of crisis, but the experience of inhabiting the threshold.
False Dichotomy
(Diptych)
Year produced: 2025
Materials: Oil on Canvas / Gold Leaf
Size: Variable dimensions
(Large pieces 38″ x 58″/ Small pieces 12″ x 12″)
This diptych explores the emotional threshold between calm and turbulence—not as irreconcilable opposites, but as states that mutually contain one another. The work challenges a false dichotomy: by allowing its components to rotate and shift, it opens a symbolic field that transcends binary logic.
The central insertion acts as an inverted emotional mirror. As the viewer repositions the fragments in space, both composition and meaning are altered, activating a flexible narrative around emotional transit, self-regulation, and internal cycles of transformation.
It is not about representing conflict, but about living it.
Behind the wall
(Installation)
Year produced: 2025
Materials: Oil on Canvas / Concrete
Size: Variable dimensions
(Painting 24″ x 24″ / Breeze Block 18″ x 18″)
Between desire and action stands a structure—silent, solid, protective. The gaze slips through a narrow opening, as if the possible could only be sensed from the safety of enclosure. What is revealed—the calm, open horizon—belongs not to the present, but to the promise of a future that never quite arrives.
This work embodies the dilemma of watching the outside world from within the confines of one’s own threshold. The central void is not merely a window; it is the visible shape of internal resistance—a mental edge where fear masquerades as caution, and protection becomes resignation.
To see is not the same as to inhabit.
